105 counters are shared equally between 5 bags. How many counters go in each bag?

  1. 105 ÷ 5 = 21 counters in each bag.

Example 2

912 counters are shared equally among 16 classes. Each class gives away 21 counters. How many does each class keep?

  1. Share first: 912 ÷ 16 = 57.
  2. Then subtract 21, leaving 36 counters per class.
Answer: 36
